We are an international group and enjoy to do science as a team. People who join us will work together with experienced colleagues. Our approaches range from biochemistry to genetics, cell biology and biophysics. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:25%\">\n<p> We profit from international and national collaborations, and from the excellent imaging and mass spectrometry facilities of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biologie.uni-osnabrueck.de\/\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">SFB 1557<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> \u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cellnanos.uni-osnabrueck.de\/en\/home.html\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Center of Cellular Nanoanalytics Osnabr\u00fcck (CellNanOs)<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>. You will get your basic introduction to scientific research and work on your project alongside with a PhD student or one of our excellent technicians. Your thesis will be closely supervised. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Master <\/em><\/strong>students will be in the lab for five months, plus one month of writing time. We prefer that you have conducted a 6-8 week practical (\u201cGrosspraktikum\u201d) with us beforehand to be familiar with all techniques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be supervised by a PhD student or postdoc. Your training should be in molecular or cellular aspects of biology, biochemistry, or chemistry with a focus on biological chemistry.  We do not expect that you have worked exactly on our topic, but that you are familiar with techniques in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics or molecular biology. As English is the language in the lab, and all our protocols and manuscripts are in English, a good knowledge is a prerequisite for you to join us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please apply with a detailed&nbsp;<strong>motivation letter, why you like to join us<\/strong>, and an informative CV (including grades) and names of three references. We look forward to your application. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:25%\">\n<p><em><strong>Postdocs.<\/strong><\/em> Your postdoctoral work allows you to conduct the research that began to excite you during your PhD, in a motivated team (like us), an environment with lots of drive and potential (like our Biology Department), and a pleasant city of the Northwest of Germany (like Osnabr\u00fcck). Your time as a postdoc is when you can profit from your training and explore new topics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you apply, clearly indicate your&nbsp;<strong>motivation<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>previous training<\/strong>, include&nbsp;<strong>your CV<\/strong>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<strong>names of three references<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 and approach us early (some 6-9 months prior to your anticipated starting date). You will need to write a proposal to fund your position, as the lab will likely only be able to provide bridging funds. EMBO, HFSP, Marie-Curie and others offer fellowships (see below).
